Weekly Fishing Report

A quiet week this time. Enough rain to shut the farmers up for a while I hope, and enough wind to make fishing not an option.

We did get out on Sunday though. The northerly swell wasn't too bad at all, but there enough wind from the NW to put a lump on top of it that made things a bit uncomfortable. It also generated a fair amount of current from NW , which made feeling the fish biting a bit of a lottery.

Still, not too bad though, we got a good quantity of tarakihi, some reasonable snapper and a few trevally, the first I've seen for a while.

The water temp had dropped a little to 17.6 * but we picked up a solitary skippy on the way out, so they haven't completely gone yet. Things are looking settled for the next few days, so let's hope a few keen anglers are around.
