Well, here it is April, and we've just started catching skippies consistently. I know they've been being picked up for a few weeks, but we can't have been where they were. We took a group out to Mayor and did well around Tuhua after dropping off the campers.

Had a good day on Sat. around Brewis and the Lab, another good day, mainly tarakihi with the odd snapper and red[golden] snapper in the mix.

Had to can Sunday's trip to pick up the Mayor group a day early as the forecast of 25/35kn of S.E. meant the Monday pickup was out of the question. Unfortunate, but unavoidable.

Still, the fishing is very good, the water temp was still at 20*, so April's off to a pretty good start, although a bit more S.E. is coming through. Hopefully, with the school holidays here, not too much.
