A bit quieter this week. We actually returned to port on Tuesday, very unusual, but it was a lot sloppier than the forecast predicted and I pulled the pin. When we checked the the Port of Taurangas' "A Beacon" [not a buoy] conditions website, I was glad I did, as it was blowing 20+knots most of the day.
Saturday we had a 6 pax charter that was lovely, all experienced fishermen , a good day's fishing around Motiti, plenty of fish- mainly tarakihi and excellent weather.
Sunday Wayne and Wade took the boat out, and after a slow start at the Lab, although not slow for barracuda, which were voracious as ever, even double headers coming up. They headed East and also ended up having a good day, although they caught quite a lot of snapper as well.
Monday was another good dasy eventally, although there was a savage current running which made for hard fishing and plenty of tangles, still, the tallies were good and that's the main thing. Hardly any snapper though, they do come and go pretty fast sometimes.
