We got a hapuku trip in on Tuesday, excellent conditions for most of the day, reasonable sign, good drifts, but apart from a few baits stolen and the signs of gemfish [feathered traces and missing sinkers], no fish. A bit frustrating to say the least.

We went in and bottom fished the Lab and Brewis, and that was marginally better, a few tarakihi and snapper, but still.....

Friday was more frustration, a good forecast but conditions that got steadliy worse thro' the day. First stop I thought we'd have an early day,as the tarakihi were leaping on board. Trouble was, as soon as the conditions worsened the fishing went dead and pretty well stayed that way except for a few more in shallow water at the day's end. And that was that for the weekend.
